The end is just the beginning

Hey everyone. Yes it's been a while, but I hope you havent forgotten about me (yeah im talking to you, random person who accedently ended up here). Anyway, on with the story.

Past

Xbox controller in hand I was now ready to waste the next few years. At first I just wanted to be better than my friends. Then the people I spoke to online.  Then the WORLLLLLD mwahahahahaha.  I started with quite a few games.  Then I started to rent some "easy wins".  Games like King Kong, TMNT, I even got Avatar.  But hey, at least I rented them.....

Then one faithful day I discovered True Achievements.  A website which compared me to all. And made me feel good, because I found some people had been playing Hannah Montanah games to get their score up....and I hadn't. It also made me realise how many games I had started, but never 100% completed. And this gave me the chance to relive some old games which had fallen from memory.  And this is where I stayed.

Present

Based on the fact last time I blogged I had nearly finished AC: Revelations, clearly it has been too long. I say this because not only have I finished it, but I have 100% completed AC3 as well.  Which in my opinion is a truelly great game.  I have now started Hitman: Absolution, and after 2 solid days of playing it I already have 600/1000 points.  I also hit 64% overall completion today.  This isnt the first time, but its still a step in the right direction.

Future

As previously mentioned this is my last Past, Present, Future.  Any future blogs will have a "Present" update but i will be listing my gaming highlights, like top games, top achievements and so forth.

Until next time....

Achievement unlocked

Past
First I would like to show you the photo I referred to in the previous blog. If I'm honest, I'm surprised I actually did have it lol.  Such a great memory though.

Bare in mind we are on his ps2, that's why it says 100 L :D

Anyway, back to the story

Just Achieve It! XBOX 260 Achievement Generator

What is this magical beeping, flashing, awesomeness I see before me?  I'm 20, but Ive finally achieved something!!

My mate Cav had recently bought an Xbox 360, and the co-op game he had which we first played together was Tom Clancy: Rainbow Six Vegas. We played the game, and it must have been less than a week, and I was already out buying my own console.  I was in heaven.  The sense of doing something that some people couldn't do, the ability to compare myself to my friends, the chance to show the world how great I can really be.

Of course in reality, I sat in my room for hours on end (no real change there) and unlocked, unlocked, unlocked.  Getting an Xbox had ended a huge obsession with World of Warcraft, which I had only being playing a month or 2, and brought on a whole new obsession.

Present

One achievement away from finishing AC: Revelation, I just need to reach lvl 20 online,  I wish I didn't have to sleep as last night I won 6 matches on the bounce. I'm level 16, so hopefully Ill hit 20 tonight.

This will be my penultimate Past, Present, Future.  Next week I will explain my years on the 360, but after that....well....youll just have to wait and see ;)

Good Memories

Past

We are now entering the period of my life where gaming began to take me over.  My college years. My mate Cav had got his ps2, so I got mine. But to be honest, it was his we played more.  As Ive previously mentioned, when I was younger I used to play games with my sister, but it wasnt really a challenge.  Now playing local multiplayer games, especially football (or soccer if any yanks happen to be reading), were the best way to distract me aways from college work.

During break periods, I would go to Cavs house, normally waking him up (baring in mind, he did the same course as me).  We would probably play 3 games of Pro Evo (or PES) using our self made wonder teams then head back to college.  We would keep a mental track of who was ahead in terms of wins and until we got pro evo 6 which kept a track for us.

Possibly my greatest moment in gaming was when we came to the last week of the college year.  We had played almost 200 matches and the scores were tied at 99-99.  That next game was the tensist yet, but I clinched the win, took a photo (which I have saved on another computer and will later upload) and have had bragging rights ever since.  This also saw the last of me playing the ps2.....

You can tell I havent done a blog for a short while lol.  So what have I still got to do..

Future

Im having a few conflicts in my mind of what to do next.  Firstly I must finish AC:Revelations.

I then plan to put my new xbox in the living room so I can plug my Kinect back in, so in my spare time I can lose wait an build up my completion percentage on things like Kinect Sports and Fitness Evolved.

Then with the old Xbox back in the bedroom, I will probably go back to complete LA Noire as I have all the addons now, then go even further back to complete GTA IV, ideally before GTA V comes out (but Im quite slow so thats unlikely)

Meanwhile...when will I play Black Ops II?

Until Next Time....

Time to grow up

PAST

Nintendo has never really let me down.  Like I said previously, it has so much character, and as a teenager it was all I ever wanted.  But I had to grow up some day.  To me, growing up was leaving the world of pokemon and mario, and moving to the world of football and shooting everything.  The choice was between Sony and its PS2, and Microsoft and its Xbox.  I remember at the time, playing with the 2 controllers and I just couldnt get over how chunky the Xbox controller felt, so I plucked for the PS2.

Oh how time changes things.

PRESENT

A lot more gaming going on at the moment paired with a longer time between this and my last blog have seen me get a fair few more achievements.

I have joined the Happy Wars (free game on xbox live) bandwagon, and I have started to play a bit more Assasins Creed Revelations in and attempt to finish it before I get AC3 (probably for xmas)

AC: Revelations

Spin Spin Spinner  10 GS - 12 TA
BOT Hunter  30 GS - 44 TA
Nobody Calls Me Noob  20 GS - 24 TA
First Victory  10 GS - 10 TA

I am currently starting to learn to make android apps in my spare non-gaming time.  Stay tuned to see how I get on.

Until Next time...

Sega Who?

Past

I loved my Mega Drive. I would play it every day, even though it was kept in my sisters room (as I didnt have a TV in mine) When I finally got a tv one xmas, I moved the mega drive into my room.  My only problem with the mega drive, was that it didnt have....character.  It had Sonic...but that was really it. Nintendo meanwhile, had Mario, It had DK, it had Pokemon and of course, it had James Pond (well Sega had James Pond: Robocod...but that isnt really the same is it lol)

Xmas 97, was the year I got my N64, and also the year I finally learnt the truth about Santa (I cant believe I made it 11 years without working it out).  My parents probably figured it out, when I found an N64, Mario 64 and goldeneye in my parents wardrobe and then extremely unsubtley went out and bought a Nintendo magazine.

Anyway, I was extremely pleased, and with the N64 i discovered just how awesome multiplayer can be.  Mario Kart, Mario Party, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark.....(im in heaven just thinking about them)  These really were some of the greatest days of my life.

Present

Ive had a good couple of days on my 360. I have been working my way through the offline Bomberman achievements whilst trying to spice up my fifa life with a bit of online play.  Acheivements I earned have been:

Fifa 13
Good Start 30 GS - 58 TA
Get Physical 5 GS - 6 TA
Trolling for Goals 15 GS - 58 TA
Creeping on the Down Low 5 GS - 12 TA

Bomberman Live
EXTREME MAKEOVER! 30 GS - 49 TA
Joy of Painting with Bomerman 20 GS - 33 TA (excellent guide on TA.com)

Future

My plan is to continue with FIFA "part time".  I would like to get One of the Bros (when I get my mate online) and Well on your Way within the next week.  Annoyed that I will need to wait another 10 days to tray and get the Filling Cabinets achievement after reaching the Semis twice on Sunday, but I will make it.

Meanwhile I am now finished with the offline achievements on Bomberman Live.  I want to finish Sonic (but having problems playing it since Ive put it on my memory stick, also with Golden axe)  I now I have part 3 of the Walking Dead, so I may start that, or maybe try a bit more Zuma.

I hope my wife is ready to play some more splitscreen Borderland 2 now that we have watched all of Homeland. fingers crossed.

Love at first sight

Past

Now I cannot deny that my wife is my true love. I cannot stress that enough...especially if she is reading this. But my first love, will always be the gaming world.

Im 25, and although I dont remember Atari, and Commodore (the games or the band), I do rememember one one thing, the Mega Drive II. It was my uncle who I first remember having a Mega Drive, and of course he had Sonic. I only saw him once or year or so, and even then, gaming wasnt important to adults, so I wasnt allowed near it when we did go round.

Luckily for me, Greg the guy across the street had managed to get his hands on a Mega Drive II. I dont really know what the difference between 1 and 2 was, I believe that 2 had red buttons?....anyway....gaming was now a lot closer and a lot more accessable. We would play Sonic 2 until he got bored, but I just couldnt get enough. I begged and begged Santa to let me have a game all to myself, and Xmas '96 was when the magic began.

I received my Mega Drive II, I had Sonic 2 which I would play with my sister, winning every single time.  I also had a 6 in 1 game, with classics like italia 90, golden axe and a game like bejewelled of which the name slips my mind, but it was basically bejewelled.

I had seen my first glimps of heaven

Present

Acheivement unlocks yesterday :

Fifa 13 - Pack King - 50g - 131 TA
Borderlands 2 - Well That Was Easy - 10g - 14 TA (awesome acheivement btw lol)

Future

With all the old Arcade games Im going through, I intend to raise my TA completion % from its tiny 63.25%  I think if I can at least get it to 65% by the time I buy Resi 6 I'll be happy, but long term Im looking for 70%

Achievements im working towards:

Bomberman Live - EXTREME MAKEOVER! - 30g - 49 TA (should get this tonight)
Bomberman Live - Joy of painting with bomber man - 20g - 33 TA

Fifa 13 - I love this club - 30g - 197 TA

Until next time..

In the begining

Past

Before my brain can remember, I have worshipped gaming. And in fact, as long as I can remember I have had games (argueably, my memory is quite poor, making the "Past" part of this blog quite useless)

I remember always having this bad boy at my side
From the classics like Sonic and Streets of Rage, to games which were bought for my "sister", like Little mermaid, I felt like I had it all. As much as I loved these games, I have to say I was pretty awful at them, but there was a game which I found quite easy and was actually thoroughly entertained by...that was Global Gladiators. A game which was basically made by macdonalds, but what I remember of it....it rocked. My game gear was the best hing to happen to me. My sisters black and white gameboy had nothing on it. But sadly the batterys stopped working in it, and then sooner rather than later the mains cord also ceased to generate enough power to run my chunky, black game box.

Present

As much as I am loving Fifa, I can only play so much in a day, but I currently do not feel like playing 2 "big games" at once (except borderland 2, which I play with my awesome wife). So I have gone back to playing some old arcade games in an attempt to catch up on some achievements I missed. I picked up a few on Game Room (aka the spawn of satan), 1 on Feeding Frenzy and also finally completed harms way, after I finally found someone online.

Future

As sad and antisocial as this may seem, I have never really enjoyed playing with people online. As my next blog will explain Ive always enjoyed single player more than anything. So My new years resolution (in the middle of October) is to make the most of the xbox community (and the xbox live subscription) and complete some online achievements.

 Until next time.... -->
